La Vanille Crocodile Park

Found in the southern region of Mauritius near Riviere des Anguilles, the reserve is filled with tropical plants that are indigenous to the island. This is the home of Nile crocodiles that are allowed to breed and keep from extinction. There are other animals located in the reserve, such as mongooses, fish, chameleons, monkeys and an insectarium.

Casela Bird Park

Bird and nature lovers will love visiting the bird park and listening to the variety of birdcalls found there. There are 140 different bird species living in the park and it is a great place for beginner and expert bird watchers.

Mauritius by Helicopter

The best way to see the island nation is via a helicopter ride. From the air you will be able to see the beautiful beaches that surround the islands. It is the best way to see the Black River Gorge, a 6,574 hectare natural and national park that helps preserve some of the indigenous plants on the island as well as the ruins of a European settlement. Finally, stop at the L’Etoile Nature Reserve and take a bicycle ride around the preserve to see the deer that live there and the working vanilla and coffee farms locate there.
